Former Cy Young Award Winner and World Series Champion Ends Career

Price's Legacy Includes 150 Strikeouts and a 245 ERA

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher David Price announced his retirement from Major League Baseball on Sunday, ending a 14-year career that included a Cy Young Award and a World Series championship. The 37-year-old left-handed starter finished his career with a 150-82 record, a 3.23 ERA, and 2,057 strikeouts in 3,101 innings pitched.

Price was a four-time All-Star and finished in the top 10 of the Cy Young Award voting five times. He won the Cy Young Award in 2012 with the Tampa Bay Rays, going 20-5 with a 2.54 ERA and 271 strikeouts. Price also helped the Red Sox win the World Series in 2018, starting two games in the American League Division Series and one game in the American League Championship Series.

Price's retirement comes as no surprise, as he had been contemplating it for several years. He pitched in only 11 games for the Dodgers in 2022 due to injuries.
